Hero cyclist clears congested road for ambulance in China

This is the heroic moment a cyclist cleared a congested road for an ambulance in China.

Footage shows the man pedalling across the slow traffic to ask motorists to give way to the emergency vehicle stuck behind in Yantai, Shandong province on January 18.

The kind community-minded cyclist Zang said: ‘I didn’t expect that the video would gain attention. I went to work during the rush hour and saw the ambulance behind the long queue of cars.

‘Without thinking twice, I went ahead and directed traffic for the ambulance. It was an emergency and I hope they safely arrived at the hospital.’

Slow traffic in the area could reportedly last up to half an hour before clearing up, but because of the cyclist, the ambulance was able to pass through within only five minutes.
