This is the amusing moment a clever magpie jumped the queue to take a PCR test in southern China.
The intelligent bird was seen walking past a line of locals who were being screened at a testing site in Fangchenggang City in the Guangxi Zhuang region on January 25. Amused staff obliged the magpie, which even obediently opened its beak to be swabbed.
The magpie is considered one of the smartest birds in the world. They have been known to fashion tools out of everyday objects, and are one of the few animal species that can recognise their own reflection in a mirror.
