Hail storms battered Chiang Rai, northern Thailand, yesterday evening (Feb 9).
Footage shows the powerful downpours as balls of frozen ice crashed onto roads, reducing visibility for drivers battling through the hail.
The Meteorological Department said that the weather will become colder with the temperature dropping to low as 15 to 20 degrees Celcius while in the mountains, the temperature dropped to between five and 13 degrees Celcius.
It is predicted that on February 10 to 11, the weather in Chiang Rai will decrease by 4 to 6 degrees celcius with a temperature of 11 to 18 degrees celcious.
Prajon Prachsakul, governor of Chiang Rai have ordered officials to repair any damage caused by the store.
Officials are helping the people impacted by the hail storm and are collecting evidence of damage.
