Stray firecracker flies into garage during Lunar New Year festivities in China

This is the moment a stray firecracker flew into a home’s garage during Lunar New Year celebrations in China.

CCTV surveillance video taken on February 1 shows a group of men sitting on the roadside while fireworks were set off on the street. While enjoying the colourful spectacle, a wayward firecracker entered the garage and exploded inside the establishment.

The men were shocked by the loud blasts, but no one appeared injured from the incident.

The 2022 Chinese New Year falls on February 1, the date that marks the beginning of the new moon. Festivities typically last for 15 days until the moon becomes full.
