Covid-scared taxi driver uses pulley to collect fares from passengers

A creative taxi driver uses a miniature pulley to collect fares from passengers to avoid contact and follow Covid-19 social distancing.

Commuter Reyurs Geronimo said he was on his way to work on December 28 when he rode a traditional jeep with a unique way to combat the spread of the virus along Castillo, Davao, the Philippines.

In the video, the driver can be seen counting the money of the passenger’s change and when completed he puts it in the small box and gently rotates the pulley system to deliver the money to the owner.

Reyurs said: ‘I really like the creativity of the driver. its simple and old technology but its really relevant especially with the current pandemic.’
