This is the terrifying moment a wild elephant walked past cars on a mountain road.
The jumbo emerged from woodland in Nakhon Ratchasima, northern Thailand, on February 27.
Drivers froze as they waited for the hungry elephant to pass. It trudged along with its trunk swaying while looking inside each of the vehicles for food.
The shocked filmer said: ‘I went to the area for a day trip and the elephant came to greet me on the road. I was scared, shocked and shaking, but the big elephant was very cute. He just came say to say hello and then walked away.’
An estimated 2,000 elephants are living in the wild in Thailand. They roam freely through protected forests and often emerge on roads.
Wildlife rangers believe the animals have learned that vehicles are an easy source of food and stop them to steal their lunch.
