This is the horrifying moment an eight-year-old boy was cut out of a crocodile’s stomach after being swallowed whole.
Dimas Mulkan Saputra was fishing in a river with his father when he strayed further from the shore before the croc pounced in East Kalimantan, Indonesia, on Wednesday morning (March 3).
The 26ft long deadly reptile dragged Dimas away as his frantic father, Subliansyah, swam after the beast.
Subliansyah punched the crocodile to try and make it release his son but the croc sank into the depths and disappeared.
Tragically, the animal swallowed little Dimas whole without even chewing.
The croc was found the next day (March 4) and Dimas’s body was cut out fully intact but lifeless in the village of Muara Bengalon in Bengalon District.
A local search and rescue agency official known as Oktavianto said the child’s father jumped to help him but the reptile escaped.
Oktavianto added: ‘He chased the crocodile and hit it with bare hands but he couldn’t keep up’’
Rescue officials believe that the Dimas was swallowed whole after being dragged into the water, as all of his limbs were in tact when he was removed from the croco.
They said they found the eight-metre long crocodile around 100 metres from the scene at 1:30am on Thursday morning.
Devastated villages shouted the name ‘Dimas’ as the crocodile was brought ashore.
The atmosphere immediately became emotional and residents broke down in tears over the death of the primary school child.
Bongga Losong, Head of Rescue Team for the East Kutai SAR Post, said: ‘After we found the crocodile we split its stomach and then we take the child to the funeral home. We buried the crocodile.
‘At that time the victim swam and was immediately pounced on by a crocodile. The crocodile was later found not far from the location of the incident.
