A giant 4ft-long monitor lizard sparked panic after ran through a school playground in Thailand.
Teachers and students shouted while running away from the rampaging wild animal in Chai Nat province on March 15.
School staff tried to scare the reptile out of the gates using a stick before it was seen scampering into the road and disappearing into the nearby bushes.
One of the students, Tanawit Janda, said the lizard returned to the forest so the guards did not chase it further.
He said: ‘We called it Gigi. It was very fat and did not hurt anyone. We were just surprised because it was chubby.’
