Teachers were stranded and prevented from reaching their classrooms when a river swelled from heavy rain in the Philippines.
Jolly Cornelio together with his colleagues were stuck for almost an hour between two flooded creeks before the rescuers arrived in the Sultan Kudarat province, the Philippines on March 16.
The teachers decided to stay near the waiting shed while waiting for the rain to stop and to keep their belonging dry.
Jolly said: ‘The life of a teacher is not easy especially working in rural areas prone to floods.’
