A driver was astonished when he came across three trucks carrying a dismantled Boeing 747 on its way to the scrap yard.

Footage shows the delivery trucks balancing the fuselage and wings of the iconic aircraft in Phetchabun province, Thailand, on February 22.

Driver Sarayoot Youmoon who saw the vehicles said: ‘I left Bangkok to enjoy the peaceful country road. It was a unique experience to see airplane parts up close.’

The Boeing 747 – nicknamed the Queen of the Skies – was once widely used but is being taken out of service by most airlines due to the high running costs. It’s declined has been exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic travel restrictions, which have seen global passenger numbers plunge.
