Amusing footage shows a young blackbuck antelope persistently courting a female at a wildlife sanctuary in India.

The female repeatedly ran away from the buck which kept on pursuing her and even tried to ride her back multiple times in Tal Chappar, Rajasthan.

A Conservation Education Centre volunteer who saw the incident said the buck finally gave up and searched the sanctuary for other mate.

He said: ‘The female did not seem to be impressed with him. He gave up and looked into another area for a mate instead.’

The blackbuck, also known as the Indian antelope, is native to India and Nepal. It inhabits grassy plains and lightly forested areas.
