This is the shocking moment an oriental whip snake attacked a lizard at a park in front of visitors in Singapore.
Footage shows the thin green snake struggling to keep the lizard still in its mouth at the Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve on May 17.
Onlooker Spencer said: ‘Honestly, I’m not surprised but intrigued. I already knew Oriental whip snake prey on changeable lizard and have seen many oriental whip snakes beforehand.
‘It was intriguing as it’s my first time seeing the whole hunting and complete consumption in one session with my macro lens on hand.
‘It was more fun to watch than expected. Also intriguing was the location – the snake was eating the lizard in front of us and in an open area that is directly next to the walking path.
‘It’s also captivating as these moments look simple and epic yet natural and not a super rare occurrence, but not frequent enough to be bored off easily – and can only imagine the thrill for people seeing this for the first time.’
