Terrifying footage shows rising river water almost reaching a bridge in Southern Leyte, the Philippines on January 12.

Several villages were submerged in the province after ten hours of nonstop rain during the night.

No one was reported hurt during the flood but some residents trapped inside the houses had to be rescued.

The state weather service said the nonstop rain was caused by a frontal system and the surge of the northeast monsoon.
