BTS fans flocked to McDonald’s to try the Korean pop group-inspired meal in Indonesia.

Footage shows long queues extending outside the fast-food chain to try the new meal launched in collaboration with the South Korean pop band in Samarinda on June 9.

Aside from fans building upon the drive-thru, food delivery riders were also caught in the fad as hundreds ordered the meal from online delivery apps.

Excited K-pop fanatic Novi said: ‘I’m really delighted to get the product even though I waited for almost two hours and a half.’

The BTS meal consists of chicken nuggets, fries, soda and two dipping sauces was launched in 50 countries.

Police in Jakarta said that a total of 32 branches were temporarily closed across the city due to violating social distancing measures triggered by the launching of the meal.

Indonesia is currently the country with the most number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Southeast Asia at 1.9 million total cases as of June 14.
