This is the moment a severe dust storm engulfed workers in the Middle East.

Chef Jade Altar was walking to his workplace when brown dust covered the area in Al Qibla, Kuwait on June 17 morning.

The weather phenomenon limited visibility for pedestrians and motorists as it was accompanied by strong winds.

Jade said: ‘It was a scary moment for me because it was the first time I have experienced such storm. I have not been here that so long so I really needed to adjust during these times.’

Weather forecaster Abdulaziz Al Qarawi of Kuwait Meteorological department advised that the dust, strong winds, and high temperatures will continue until the end of the week.

Dust storms are caused by a combination of drought and strong winds. The gusts blow across dry surfaces and whip up dust and dirt in the air.
