Kind villagers freed a wild elephant caught in an animal trap.
Footage shows a man carefully cutting a rope stuck around the jumbo’s leg in Kanchanaburi province, Thailand on June 26.
Rescuer Aekkapol Heedrod said: ‘We spent almost four hours saving the elephant because it kept moving and swaying its trunk. We cut the rope little by little to prevent hurting it.’
The animal traps were installed to prevent snakes in the area as they usually attack horses and chickens but the elephant was trapped.
