Subway passengers killed after floods fill carriages in China

Subway passengers were killed after floods from heavy rain filled carriages in China on Monday (July 21).

The terrified trapped commuters were left clinging to handrails as the fast-flowing water gushing through the system rose up to their necks.

At least 12 people have been killed after the floods filled the subway carriages in Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan province in central China.

Footage shows passengers stranded in a carriage shortly before rescue teams waded through the deluge and rescuing them.
