Footage shows muddy floodwater gushing down a set of steps on a mountain trail in the Philippines during typhoon In-fa.

Resident Joelien Quianio said the trail was the only pathway in and out of their village so they were worried when the deluge suddenly gushed down in La Trinidad, Benguet province on July 24.

She said: ‘There have been landslides nearby so evacuating was difficult. We just prayed hard that the rain would stop and we were relieved that we have been safe.’

Typhoon In-fa, locally named Fabian, slowly headed to the East China Sea but continued to intensify with the monsoon maintaining heavy downpours across Luzon island. Dozens of people have since been killed in China where the typhoon caused floods.
