Terrified passengers struggled to get off a ship due to rough waves before it sank during typhoon In-fa in the Philippines.
Footage shows the boat swaying from the waves as frantic passengers rushed to disembark in Masbate, Albay province on July 21.
Village official Noel Fajardo said: ‘The waves that days were frightening. We went to the pier to assist people. Fortunately, everyone was off the boat when it sank.’
Typhoon In-fa, locally named Fabian, slowly headed to the East China Sea but continued to intensify with the monsoon maintaining heavy downpours across Luzon island. Dozens of people have since been killed in China where the typhoon caused floods.
