Residents rushed to have their Covid-19 vaccines a day before a scheduled lockdown in the Philippines.

Footage shows a vaccination site being overrun with a frantic crowd wanting to get their jabs in Las Pinas City on August 5.

The residents were allegedly told that they wouldn’t be allowed to go out during the lockdown if they were unvaccinated.

Due to insufficient supplies, the planned vaccination was reportedly cancelled later on as well as due to violations of social distancing rules.

The Philippines imposed one of the longest-running lockdowns in the world but it has also recorded one of the most infections in Southeast Asia.
