Roads disinfected after Covid-19 outbreak in China

Roads were disinfected amid the latest Covid-19 outbreak in China.

Fog cannons were seen spraying disinfectant on several roads in Zhengzhou City, Henan on August 6. Roads in Jiangsu province, where the majority of the new local cases have been tallied, were also disinfected.

China is currently experiencing its worst Covid-19 outbreak in months, with 328 local infections recorded across at least 26 cities since July.

Authorities have enforced mass testing, travel restrictions, and targeted lockdowns to curb the spread of the virus.

Health officials recently reported a decline in locally transmitted infections on August 5, but warned local governments not to let down their guard against the highly contagious Delta variant.
