This is the adorable moment a father and mother bird huddled with their chick to keep it warm during a cold spell in Thailand.
The zebra dove family was perched on the steel beam of a roof under a ylang-ylang tree in Lopburi province on January 19.
They slept near the garden’s lamp where it was warmer during the chilly 16 degrees Celsius night.
The house owner said his garden had been attracting birds and other animals as it provides cover and warmth during the cold season.
He said: ‘They leave poop that sometimes even fall on my head, but I’m not angry about it. I want to share the garden.’
He added that he filmed the feathered animals quietly as they slept, and were gone the next morning.
He said: ‘The birds are so cute, I think they have a nest in one of the branches. I hope they will show up here again.’
State meteorologist Phuwiang Prakhammin said that winter will be colder and longer than previous years. He expected the cool season to last for approximately 122 days until mid-February, with average lows of 20C to 21C nationwide throughout the entire season, however, temperatures are much lower in northern parts of Thailand.
