This is the moment a Filipino man rescued a bat drowning in a toilet bowl using chopsticks.

Ian Lester Rodriguez said he was about to use the bathroom in his home in Floridablanca, Pampanga on July 10 when he heard strange noises.

There he found the bat thrashing in the toilet bowl and trying to stay afloat. The bat appeared scared, baring its fangs at Ian as he tried to retrieve it using a pair of chopsticks.

He said: ‘I wonder how it got there since the windows and doors were closed. I decided to pick it up with my bare hands but it seemed to be biting. So I used chopsticks but without success.’

Ian said he eventually had to use tongs to pick up the bat, which was released into the wild.
