This is the scary moment a Boeing 737 had to land with its cargo door swinging wide open.

The Aerosucre aircraft was carrying goods from Mitu to the capital Bogota when the pilot noticed the side-door had opened shortly after take-off on August 21.

He had to quickly turn back and land at the Fabio Alberto Leon Bentley Airport with the door flapping open – on the same runway that it had departed from.

Footage shows the plane descending onto the landing strip and no casualties or injuries were reported. Officials are now investigating what caused the error.

The aircraft, with registration number HK-5026, has reportedly been in operation for 40 years, including 12 years as a freighter.
