Buildings were damaged due to Hurricane Grace, which brought heavy rainfall, violent winds, and flash flooding to Mexico on Saturday.
Footage shows a rubble-riddled storefront on Boulevard Ruiz Cortinez, Poza Rica City on August 21, with bricks and broken pieces of stone littering the walkway. Hurricane Grace also toppled over trees, billboards, and electric posts in other areas of Veracruz state.
Hurricane Grace first made landfall on the Yucatan Peninsula on Thursday August 19 before restrengthening into a Category 3 storm and slamming into Mexico’s eastern coast on Saturday August 21.
Veracruz State Governor Cuitláhuac García said at least eight have died during the storm, including children.
Grace has since been downgraded to a tropical storm and is expected to head into the Pacific region.
