This is the shocking moment water poured into a family’s kitchen during a rainstorm in northeastern Thailand.

Footage shows the heavy downpour drenching the appliance and cooking utensils as the water entered the home in Buriram province on August 24.

House owner Pissmai Opmayun said she busy was cooking a local traditional dish of spicy curry with noodles when the heavy rain started.

She said: ‘There was water everywhere. Everything I prepared for the meal was in a total mess because of the water.’

Thailand and other countries in Southeast Asia such as Indonesia, the Philippines and Malaysia are in the middle of their tropical monsoon rainy season, which lasts until October or November. Soaring temperatures reaching 35 degrees Celsius are often followed by powerful tropical storms with thunder, lightning, rain and flash floods.
