This is the shocking moment a ten-wheeler truck crashed through road barriers and injured nine people.
The lorry was approaching a tight bend when its brakes reportedly malfunctioned and the driver lost control in Ang Thong province, Thailand on August 3.
It drove through concrete barriers before hitting a pickup truck on the opposite side of the road while a backhoe kept on its trailer was flung.
Local rescue volunteers arrived at the scene before taking the injured motorists – five women and four men including the driver Bunlue Yinchai, 63 – into the nearest hospital.
Boonsong Huang, one of the volunteer rescuers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation, said: ‘The backhoe crashed into a property where there were people hit. An electric pole also toppled down from the impact.’
Driver Bunlue was seriously injured following the incident but he is now in a stable condition at the hospital including the others.
Authorities are still investigating the incident and would question the driver once he has recovered while the CCTV footage was taken as evidence.
