Stray cats carried to safety during floods in Indonesia

This is the touching youngsters helped to rescue stray cats in the middle of a flood in South Kalimantan, Indonesia.

In the video taken by local resident, Helma, the shivering cats are seen being pulled to safety on the wooden raft on January 12.

The cats were then taken to a safer place and provided with food and shelter.

Helma said: ‘I admire the people who helped the cats. It reminded me how important it is to value every life.’

Indonesia and neighbouring Malaysia and southern Thailand suffered severe floods this month as the northeast monsoon moved across the region bringing heavy rain.
