This is the beautiful moment rays of sunlight illuminated clouds as the sun set in a village in China.

Footage shows a blanket of cumulus clouds being backlit by sunlight in Jintian village, Shuangfeng county in Hunan on September 2 afternoon.

According to the Hunan Meteorological Bureau, the scene was caused by the Tyndall effect, which usually occurs in the early morning or sunset when there are more dust particles in the air.

The Tyndall effect happens when smoke and dust scatter light, creating distinct rays that are splayed across the sky.
