Hundreds of people stampeded through a car park to get their Covid-19 vaccines in Pathum Thani, Thailand.
Footage shows the chaotic scene as crowds surged forward when the jab office opened at the Future Park Rangsit shopping mall on Saturday September 4.
Bosses at the shopping mall apologised for the incident. They said in a statement: ‘We are taking action. We have addressed the problem and proposed solutions to the organization involved to improve the situation immediately.’
Thailand has been dealing with its worst outbreak of infections after cases flared up in April this year. The highest daily total was more than 23,000 but numbers have fallen over the previous fortnight.
Ministers have relaxed lockdown measures and hope that a vaccination roll-out will allow the country to re-open in October, with tourists arriving shortly after.
More than 10 million people, or 14 per cent of the population, have so far received two doses of vaccines from various companies.
