A kitten had to be rescued after it was found stuck under a chainlink fence.

The two-month-old stray female kitten wandered into through the streets looking for food before trying to squeeze into a garage in Chiang Mai province, Thailand on September 4.

It was discovered by the house owner upon hearing it cry for help during the night so he called the animal rescuers for assistance.

Volunteers from the Prao Wang Hin rescue team used a bolt cutter to widen the gap in the chainlink and freed the animal.

Dek Saetang, one of the rescuers, said: ‘It was easy to remove the cat but we had to be careful not to hurt it since we used a cutting tool.’

The kitten was given to police officers at a nearby police station who offered to take care of the moggie.
