Strong winds battered a makeshift vaccination area at a city hall in the Philippines during severe tropical storm Conson.
Footage shows medical tents blown away by the wind as heavy downpours lashed at Borongan City Hall in Eastern Samar province on September 6.
Conson, locally called Jolina, has made landfall seven times – six times as a typhoon and the seventh as a severe tropical storm – while moving on a northwest direction.
It is expected to leave the country on Friday (September 10) while another severe tropical storm Chanthu, locally known as Kiko, ravaged the Philippine Sea.
The Philippines and other countries in Southeast Asia such as Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand are in the middle of their tropical monsoon rainy season, which lasts until October or November. Soaring temperatures reaching 35 degrees Celsius are often followed by powerful tropical storms with thunder, lightning, rain and flash floods which cause rivers to flow faster and become dangerous.
