This is the spectacular moment thousands of tonnes of water were released from a dam during flooding in southern Thailand.
Heavy rain from the northeast caused the river to overflow and flood thousands of homes in Songkhla province near the border with Malaysia earlier this month.
Officials opened the dam gate on January 10 sending thousands of tonnes of water crashing into the ravine below. They said it helped to ease flooding further upstream.
