Hundreds of tourists were trapped in the biting cold as strong winds caused temperatures to drop in China on October 2.

Footage shows the crowd stuck on a bridge at the Taibai Mountain National Forest Park in Shaanxi Province. The park had reportedly run out of space in which to take shelter, leaving the people stuck outside with only their jackets to protect against the chill.

Shaanxi has been experiencing rainfall for several days. The non-stop downpour has caused 25 rivers and 30 stations in the province to experience 43 flood peaks.

A level IV emergency flood response was issued by the local water resources department for flood and disaster prevention. Local media said flood control personnel were on 24-hour duty to address emergencies.
