Landslides and floods triggered by continuous heavy rain battered Gangsu province in China on October 3.

Several homes in Pingliang City were destroyed by the landslide, which had cut off the local power supply and caused heavy traffic. The downpour also inundated wheat fields, damaging farmers’ harvests.

Footage shows firefighters conducting evacuation operations and rescuing trapped elderly residents who could not move due to their health.

The Pingliang Hydrological Station issue a red flood warning on October 3 afternoon as the water level of the Daxi river continued to rise and threatened to overflow to nearby residential areas.

Authorities said around 172 households and 470 people were affected by the severe weather. They added that there were no casualties because residents were able to evacuate in advance.
