A robe used in the hit Netflix show Squid Game is to be sold for a staggering $250,000.

Eccentric gay billionaire VIP 4 wore the black and gold outfit while betting on players crossing a glass bridge. He then made a failed attempt to seduce a young undercover cop posing as a waiter before being knocked unconscious.

U.S. actor Geoffrey Giuliano who starred in the role as the sleazy businessman – the biggest for any foreign actor in Squid Game – has now received an offer from a high profile memorabilia dealer Phillip Winfield of Artistic Music Products of Hunterville, North Carolina, for the outfit following the incredible success of the show.

Geoffrey – who has rocketed from obscurity to one of the top 2,500 listed stars in the world following the drama’s success – is now selling the outfit to ‘someone who is hooked on the series’ in order to raise money for charity.

A group in India has even asked for his annotated Squid Game script to be sold at a charity auction with an opening bid of $10,000.

The actor – who is the only non-Korean member of the cast to speak publicly since the release – said: ‘Squid Game has iconic costumes that have started a whole spin-off industry. The players, the guards and the VIPs have the most memorable outfits that have been seen in any movie so far this year, if not this decade.’

The actor, who is originally from Rochester, New York, said he was handpicked for the role after Squid Game director Hwang Dong-hyuk recognized him from minor parts.

His role as the only openly gay character in the show has also made him a cult star among the LGBT community.

Geoffrey, who is now looking for a top Hollywood agent to handle his stratospheric rise, added: ‘I didn’t read the small print in the contract that I would have to do a nude scene. I definitely look better with the robe on.

‘It’s worth every penny and I’m happy that it will go to someone who loves the show. They adore the series and want to collect everything they can. The market for original Squid Game memorabilia is huge.’

The South Korean Netflix drama Squid Game tells the story of hundreds of participants struggling with hopeless debt who compete in a series of children’s games to win the final 45.6 billion won (38.7 million USD) prize.

The series was released on September 17 and received an overwhelming response from viewers worldwide but it has also been criticised for showing violence and gore.
