Stranded residents climbed to the roof of their house after typhoon Kompasu caused intense flooding in the Philippines.
Footage shows rescuers evacuating the stricken locals on boats as strong winds and torrential rains pummeled Abra province on October 12.
Kompasu, locally known as Maring, left the Philippine area of responsibility on Tuesday October 13 morning and was forecast to approach China’s Hainan province where it was set to make landfall.
It is the second cyclone to hit the Philippines this October, leaving at least 11 dead and 22 others missing due to landslides and flash floods while forcing the evacuations of thousands in the Luzon island.
