A violent storm that battered Sydney was caught on timelapse on October 14.

Footage shows dark clouds rolling over a residential area in Sydney moments before dumping rain and bringing strong winds in the area.

The ‘very dangerous’ thunderstorms blitzed Sydney and New South Wales on Thursday, according to the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM).

They said the inclement weather brought large hailstones, flash flooding, and strong winds across western Australia, leaving several suburbs without power.

The BOM said the weather system has weakened, but warned of possible localised thunderstorms in storm-battered areas.
