Street artists from the Philippines created an enormous mural to remember NBA legend Kobe Bryant and her daughter Gianna’s on the first anniversary of their death.

Tenement Visual Artists repainted a basketball court with a portrait of the iconic father and daughter who died in a helicopter crash last year (January 26).

In the mural in the capital Manila, Gianna is seen piggybacking on his father Kobe’s shoulders with the two of them smiling.

They were painted on a gold and purple background – the colours of the LA Lakers, which was Kobe’s last NBA team.

Visual artist Jerry Gabo, who also helped create the mural, said they will continue the tradition every year.

He said: ‘Kobe is well-loved in the Philippines. He visited our country several times to promote street basketball, so he left a mark on us.’

Basketball player Kobe Bryant died on January 26, 2020, when a helicopter he was travelling in crashed in Calabasas, California.
