Firemen carried away injured residents after an explosion believed to be caused by a gas leak killed at least one and injured 33 others in China on Thursday October 21.
Footage shows locals panicking and crying amid the wreckage caused by the blast in Shenyang, Liaoning province.
The Liaoning fire department said: ‘At 8.25am, the Nanjing North Street fire and rescue station sent three vehicles and 10 people to the site for rescue.’
Locals living near the area said their homes suffered minor damage due to the explosion.
A woman residing in the building opposite the blast site said: ‘I was scared when the explosion happened. Then I saw the fire trucks. They came quite quickly, after about a little more than 10 minutes.’
The cause of the incident is now under investigation, authorities said.
