An explosion believed to be caused by a gas leak killed at least three and injured 33 others in China on Thursday October 21.
Dashcam footage shows the moment the blast ripped through buildings causing a huge cloud of dust and smoke from the explosion site in Shenyang, Liaoning province. The explosion hit adjacent buildings, damaged several cars, and left the street littered with debris as locals screamed in panic.
At least three people were killed and 33 other people who suffered injuries were sent to the hospital.
The Liaoning fire department said: ‘At 8.25am, the Nanjing North Street fire and rescue station sent three vehicles and 10 people to the site for rescue.’
Locals living near the area said their homes suffered minor damage due to the explosion.
A woman residing in the building opposite the blast site said: ‘I was scared when the explosion happened. Then I saw the fire trucks. They came quite quickly, after about a little more than 10 minutes.’
The cause of the incident is now under investigation, authorities said.
