This is the amusing moment guests at a wedding reception ate their dinner under umbrellas as a rainstorm battered the outdoor venue in the Philippines.
Wedding host Trevor Ansela recorded the newlyweds and their guests taking shelter under the umbrellas amid a storm downpour in Lapu Lapu City on October 22.
He said: ‘I was so impressed with the guests because they didn’t leave despite the inclement weather. The celebration must go on, rain or shine.
‘I thought it was impossible to continue, but the couple wholeheartedly trusted us to continue the celebration despite what was happening. I think we were able to give them an unforgettable wedding.’
The Philippines and other countries in Southeast Asia such as Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand are at the peak of their tropical monsoon rainy season, which lasts until late November. Soaring temperatures reaching 35 degrees Celsius are often followed by powerful tropical storms with thunder, lightning, rain and flash floods which cause rivers to flow faster and become dangerous.
