Mother elephant walks with baby at nighttime on a dark road

This is the adorable moment a mother elephant walked with her baby during nighttime on a dark road in northeastern Thailand.

Ple Srichai was driving along Khao Yai National Park Nakhon Ratchasima province when he passed by the jumbo family on December 19.

He was driving slowly along a road near the forests when the headlights of his car flashed into the direction of the elephants.

The pair marched slowly on one lane of the road and politely made way for the approaching car behind.

When the car had passed, the jumbos went to the edge of the road heading back to the woods.

Ple said: ‘The mother and its baby looked so cute. They were so calm even when I was so close to them.’

The elephant is the national animal of Thailand. An estimated 2,000 elephants are living in the country’s wild and a similar number in captivity. In the wild, they roam through the deep jungle and in the country’s protected national parks.
