A Lamborghini caught fire while travelling along a highway in northwestern China.
The white luxury sports car was filmed driving in Xi’an City, Shaanxi province on October 23 with flames flickering in its rear end. A concerned motorist tried honking to alert the driver of the impending danger, to no avail.
The vehicle was later seen burning on the roadside while the unnamed driver was uninjured.
Investigations found that the Lamborghini was being leased for a daily fee of 10,000 yuan (about £1154). Alleged improper handling caused it to catch fire. The insurance company has settled the claim for the damaged car.
A Lamborghini can start from as little as $200,000 but the most expensive is the Veneno Roadster, which is valued at a staggering $8.3 million
