Heroic firefighters rescued a cat trapped in a sewer in Indonesia.

The kitten had fallen into the narrow ditch in Pulogadung District, East Jakarta City on November 10. Five rescuers arrived at the scene after receiving a report about the stranded animal.

Sunarimo of the Pulogadung Firefighting Team said: ‘We received a report and then mobilised five personnel to evacuate the cat.’

Armed with a flashlight, a firefighter crawled down the dirty and dimly-lit hole to search for the feline, which had retreated to an out-of-reach corner of the drain.

It took 30 minutes before the white and orange kitten was successfully evacuated.
