This is the astonishing moment a rare Hoopoe bird was seen feeding on the forest floor of a mountain in the Philippines.
Nature photographer Greggy Enriquez filmed the migrant bird from a distance in Rizal province on October 5.
Greggy said that he was curious about the strange feathered animal and did not know that it was rare until he went closer.
He said: ‘I started doing these photography walks during the pandemic, to calm my mind. I was so lucky to have found one.’
Hoopoes are known for the distinctive feathers in the head that resemble a crown which spreads like a fan when threatened.
They are also the national bird of Israel, believed to be is listed in the Old Testament as unclean and forbidden food for Jews.
