This is the heroic moment a police offer climbed down a 100-metre cliff to rescue a goral that was caught on a wire rope in southern China.
The officer was with his colleagues conducting daily patrols around the Garzê Tibetan Autonomous in Sichuan province on November 25 when they saw the goat-like creature ensnared on the wire rope on the steep cliff.
Using a rope tied around his body, the brave man rappeled down the ravine to set the goral free. However, because it was frightened and struggling, it kicked up clouds of dust which made the rescue operation more difficult.
After a few minutes, the officer finally managed to release the trapped animal, which immediately ran away on the craggy cliffside.
