This is the heroic moment firefighters rescued a kitten that had fallen into a 50ft deep well in Indonesia.

The hapless moggy was heard crying for help by concerned locals in West Kotawaringin Regency, Central Kalimantan Province on Tuesday morning November 30.

Animal rescuers arrived and climbed down into the damp and dirty shaft outside the Public Health Center in Pasir Panjang Village.

They finally emerged back up their ladder carrying the wet and shivering white feline, which appeared to be healthy.

‘The kitten was in the well for two hours. We immediately rushed to the report,” a firefighter at the scene told the filmer.

‘We are grateful that we could save the cat.’

The kitten was given to a nearby resident to look after. They named her Mumu.
