A fat cat squeezed itself out of a tiny hole to eat food in China’s Forbidden City in Beijing.
Footage filmed on November 27 shows the chubby feline crawling out of the narrow gap in the wall to gobble up a bowl of food left by the locals.
The imperial palace complex and national museum in China’s capital has a long history of keeping cats as pets. City officials during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) even kept files recording the ancestry and names of the felines residing in the royal palace.
Today, museum curators reportedly keep hundreds of neutered cats around the Forbidden City to help get rid of vermin that might damage China’s cultural relics.
