Spectacular sea of clouds cover mountains in chilly northern Thailand

A Spectacular sea of clouds covered mountains in northern Thailand this morning as temperatures dropped to a chilly 5 degrees Celcius.

Footage shows the scene in the Wiang Kaen district of Chiang Rai province, where the highest mountains are around 1,742 meters above mean sea level.

Tourists have been making the trek to the top of the peak to take in the breathtaking views.

Thailand is currently going through its cooler winter period where temperatures in the north of the country fall to single digits while in the capital Bangkok they can fall to the mid-teens on cold nights.
